5th of July 2007 date of the launch of War Stories, the new album of U.N.K.L.E. I've been listening to it for about a month before this gig and i think James Lavelle and Richard File (they teamed in this album again) have still something to say. The album is very powerful and the gig was a very good show, quite simple and spontaneous. Good visuals but unfortunately no special guests. I'd like to see the visuals on a big lcd rather than crt, hopefully to a forthcoming festival.

| Jazz it up! |

Finally I've got them! I've been looking for the Saucony Jazz for about 2 years now. I've tried all my connections in Canada and the States to buy them online (shops online in USA don't usually ship to Canada or to addresses if different from the billing address of the credit card). No luck ! Few days ago I was walking with Simone in Portobello and we were getting soaked from an "unpredictable" shower (YES in London it's raining right now ! ). We decided to hang for a while in Size? to wait for the rain to stop. You can imagine how that ended up...

| The National - live |
|
The National back to London town! This time they played at the Astoria. It's Tuesday 22nd of May and me and the boys in the studio have been waiting for long long time for this night. The Boxer it's their latest album and i managed to have a promo copy few weeks before the official release, just to get into the tunes better. The atmosphere was great and Matt Berninger (singer) surprisely (for me) was an amazing , charismatic icon on stage. I'm still much more into Alligator (their previous album) and "discovering" the Boxer day after day... |
| Mad-chester Run ! |
|
Another run, another day out, and again that guy that looks like me is twisting the knobs while the runners are passing by the DJ booth. This time in the background is the Manchester United Old Trafford football stadium, in front of it 25.000 runners passing by in order to finish the 10k of the Great Manchester Run on Sunday the 20th of March 2007. Sunny day with a lot of minimal techno coming out of the speakers as an Australian artist came to join the rest of us to party, dance and take pictures (have a look in the galleries , they are wicked! Thanks a lot!). Looking forward for next one.

| Air-Dream |
|
I'm pretty sure that i share this dream with many others: to own an Airstream caravan as an hideaway to spend part of the day in. I was outside London, up north, and one of the suppliers that we use for work was converting a big lot of Airstreams into something else: a Falafel stall for Covent Garden, an eco-friendly house, a spare guest room, etc. The shiny metal shell attracted me from the distance and i started taking pictures of them. I'm sure I won't be able to afford one of them anytime soon, especially on the British market as they are sold for 10 times the original price of the antique USA market. |
| Pimp my soul ! |

This is what you can find in Bricklane Market on a Sunday morning. Yes it's a bargain, I know. Unfortunately I don't wear them or I would have lined up with the other Plimsolls addicts to get a pair for myself. For everyone out there that have missed the trend of the summer or just for all the Londoner wannabes (Nice one brova!) now is the time to get a pair of white Plimsolls to go with the skinny trousers.
I suggest to get them from www.whiteplimsolls.com , but you need to be ready to pay up to double the price of a typical London market stall... |
| Putting the + after Nike |
|
Yes the one on the left looks like it's me on the "Warrior / NIKE+ 3" iPodJing, For the first time Apple and Nike together are promoting in the UK a range of new trainers that using a sensor and a receiver, they connect to the iPod nano in order to track your workouts while you listen to your music (www.nike.com/nikeplus). The first event was the Great Ireland Run in the Phoenix Park in Dublin on the 15th of April where 7000 people ran for 10k. My main role was to play the "powersongs" at the 5th kilometre in order to give a boost to the runners. Using a Numark iDJ wasn't the easiest thing to do, but they all enjoyed the music. This is to reproduce the situation of a typical run with an iPod playing music in your ears when it's linked to your shoes. It tells you all the details about your current run and at some point it plays your favourite powersong to make you go faster (!). It's a new concept of running, that's why they promise you that you will "Run like you've never run before".

| Bloc Party ...started |
|
This is a picture of the concert from Bloc Party on the 19th of April at the Brixton Academy. I saw them play live at the Mean Fiddler in January this year for a very intimate gig for the Xfm radio station and that was amazing. Brixton was even better! Even if the venue doesn't forgive any mistake (Kele's voice wasn't at its best at all, his guitar as well...). I must admit that the guys created such a cool atmosphere in there! We were all amused.

This is a nice stencil found yesterday on Westbourne Grove. It's on the pavement near the flowers stall. It's amazing the way the paint hasn't covered the texture of the concrete. It looks like it has been bleached out.

This one
happened to me on Saturday when one of my friends gave me a bag with a
present for his girlfriend as he was going to a gig and didn't want to
carry it. I was hanging out in Portobello Road with another friend of
mine so we had a quick drink in one of the busy pubs down the road. Well, when my mate called me a few
hours later to ask about the bag i realized that i
couldn't remember where it was.
