Gigs are usually a good getaway in London. Thursday was a good one, Bloc Party played the reopening of Relentless Garage an old and historical venue in Highbury. It's so small you can actually talk to whoever is performing and request a song. That happened the other night and Bloc party are quite friendly, they actually played a few ones the audience was asking for. Intimacy, their latest album, hasn't been approved very much from the critic and I also agree is not as full of gems like the previous Silent alarm or Weekend in the city, but still an enjoyable album. Again the venue is really nice and cozy, too hot tho, we were baking after the first song in the mosh pit. Maybe the sound system could be better, but when it comes down to punk or indie rock, well, you don't really need to feel the bass !

| The sabotage goes live! |
![]()
It's now kind of public that I'm the sabotage! When I perform on the decks for a few reasons I like to call myself "tage sabo". I've been recently playing with Serato Scratchlive which I still prefer to NI Traktor Scratch for the simplicity of the GUI. This picture (thanks to M. Loubser) is from last week party D-Late - Alwayz fridaze @ The Egg. I was Djing on the 1st floor spinning some minimal techno and house beats. I was really impressed in seeing the crowd pleased from the whole selection especially considering that downstairs one of the guru of electro house was playing (!).

5th of July 2007 date of the launch of War Stories, the new album of U.N.K.L.E. I've been listening to it for about a month before this gig and i think James Lavelle and Richard File (they teamed in this album again) have still something to say. The album is very powerful and the gig was a very good show, quite simple and spontaneous. Good visuals but unfortunately no special guests. I'd like to see the visuals on a big lcd rather than crt, hopefully to a forthcoming festival.

| The National - live |
|
The National back to London town! This time they played at the Astoria. It's Tuesday 22nd of May and me and the boys in the studio have been waiting for long long time for this night. The Boxer it's their latest album and i managed to have a promo copy few weeks before the official release, just to get into the tunes better. The atmosphere was great and Matt Berninger (singer) surprisely (for me) was an amazing , charismatic icon on stage. I'm still much more into Alligator (their previous album) and "discovering" the Boxer day after day... |
| Bloc Party ...started |
|
This is a picture of the concert from Bloc Party on the 19th of April at the Brixton Academy. I saw them play live at the Mean Fiddler in January this year for a very intimate gig for the Xfm radio station and that was amazing. Brixton was even better! Even if the venue doesn't forgive any mistake (Kele's voice wasn't at its best at all, his guitar as well...). I must admit that the guys created such a cool atmosphere in there! We were all amused.
